Yes it does, and NMK'S set up does also. NMK has a filter on the CVT intake as well, where mine does not. I am relying on the back facing elevated snorkel to reduce debris into the CVT (but it is not filtered). My set up was more focused on protection of the motor, with redundant filtration and easy serviceability, to avoid a blown motor. One advantage that my set up has is quick and easy tool-less change (<30 seconds) of the primary filter in the Donaldson canister in ANY conditions. It has a "safety filter" inside the primary allowing me to change it inside a tornado of dust WITHOUT allowing any debris into the intake. NMK's is better protection for the CVT and mine allows "in the field" change of the motor filter easily and risk free. Both are much better than stock... With different prioritized advantages...
