My machine is in the dealer's shop now awaiting the upgraded shocks.  I was told that there is a new part number and it will take a while for them arrive.

Just to keep this thread updated for anyone searching for information.

My front started to wear.  I am heading to the dealer tomorrow.  I am taking the shocks up so he can take pictures to  do a warranty claim.  Dealer said he does not know if they redesigned the shocks, but the p/n changed and he is surmising that they changed them.  My dealer is the same as Bezerk1.

They have updated the shocks.
They're no longer a 2 spring setup. There now a solid progressive rate spring.

It appears to be the same part number as the old shocks with just the helper spring removed.  I wonder what the fronts are going to look like?

I didn't even notice they were different in the picture.  I'm glad that CFMoto really stepped up and fixed this problem rather quickly.

Is the shock entirely different or did they just go to a one spring design keeping the inside shock.

How come they sent you a crank case cover gasket?

Are you sure its a different spring all together? I'm wondering too if they did just eliminate the upper spring.

Have you measured the new spring against the old lower?

So the rear spring has changed, but how are you sure the front one has? Excuse my ignorance here.

But yea my dealer gave me the run around when I brought this to their attention, being as how I'm out of warranty and all, they said they've never heard of the issue and CFMoto hasn't issued a recall.

So please let us know how the shocks hold up, if they have in fact fixed the issue. Figure I'll just ride mine till they fail.

In Nighthawk's picture the shock on top is the new front shock.  The spring appears shorter.  My original fronts had the preload collar almost up to the top of the upper shock mount.  The new shock has the preload collar a few inches down.  I'm picking mine up from the dealer tomorrow.  I'll see if I can get some pics of the new shock.

I picked up my machine from the dealer yesterday.  The dealer replaced 2 front shocks and one rear.  Unfortunately I did not have time to inspect the new shocks too well.  The front shocks now have a new part number on the reservoir.  There appears to now be a half inch gap between the gas chamber and the spring.  I didn't get any trail miles yet but, I do not think I will have issues.  It appears that CFMOTO now has a valid fix for this problem.  The dealer has also replaced one of my rear shocks due to oil leakage.

What's amazing to me is that CFMoto dealers have noticed this problem and passed it along to CFMoto.  CFMoto issued a revised part and distributed it.  This process took at least 6 months which to me is an incredibly short time frame.  This is all speculation on my part but, I'd like to think this what happened.  In the meantime my dealer assured me that my problem would be fixed.  My machine is still under warranty and I was told that the problem would be resolved even after the warranty ran out.  In my opinion both my dealer and CFMoto stepped up to fix this issue in a fast and effective manner.  No complaints here, keep up the good work.  The CFMoto T-shirt was just icing on the cake.
