Hi All,

The part of the shifter that slides back and forth with the shift lever is broken on my machine. It's the long thin plastic piece that prevents you from seeing down into the shifter, and blocks the heat from coming up through the shifter.

I can't find a part number for this anywhere. I'm hoping someone here has and can offer up a solution.

Also, has anyone removed the handle off the top of the shifter? If so, how is that done?

Mine bunched-up and broke the first week. I cut a new one from a 5-gal bucket the same width but as long as I could without it hitting anything below shifting fully in either direction so it had less chance of bunching on the guides. Has worked perfectly sense 2015. The only thing is..I wish I had a black bucket instead of white...lol. Cut it from as close to the top as possible. Make it too long at first and put the hole for the shifter shaft in the center, feed it through the guides then cut the ends as necessary. Cake.

Yeah, just loosen the lock nut on the bottom and spin it off. But remember, when you put it back on check that the button works the release correctly before you lock it in. At a point screwing the handle down pushes the center detent release..without using the button.

As I also recall I took off the center console plastics too.

Replacing the cover was a 3 minute task. Easy peasey. I wish all fixes were this simple.
