Any one remove their sway bars on their Z8? Any input on pros and cons or ride improvement?  I want to take mine off but I'm afraid cause sometimes I act like an ass and would like to hear others opinions.

On my 53" it has so much body roll already I wouldn't want to take the sway bar off...in fact on others I have I got rid of the rubber bushings on the sway bar and went with the "Energy" Sway bar bushings which are a POLYURETHANE unit. These get rid of the mushy rubber and force the sway bar to act more like a torsion bar decreasing body roll and increasing control in cornering ...and donuts...and stuff. :)   I will be doing that to this one as well...asap.

Thanks for the input ,  I would like to Remove them for more flex and maybe a more plush ride but I like to act up sometimes,  so I'm wondering if it's a really noticeable difference in body roll without them?  I like to drive sideways often lol

I will probably take mine off, but haven't yet. I took it off my Grizzly and could not tell much difference. If you like to get wild with it a lot, you may want to keep it. I ride in a lot of ruts and rocks, so taking it off will help keep me more level in the rough stuff. It just depends on your riding style and terrain.

I tested my Polaris Sportsman without a sway bar.  I took it off and will never put it back on.  The ride was smoother in rocks and technical terrain.  The only time it felt unstable was when cornering on pavement.  It always wants to lift the inside front wheel.  It feels more like a racing quad that an utility.  Not a problem for me but, it could get an inexperienced rider in trouble.

I disconnected the sway bar on my Z800 EX for a ride with Flipper.  I had to steal the sway bar end link nut for a missing rear A arm.  Through the course of a 30 mile ride I completely forgot that the bar was disconnected.  I did not notice that much of a difference.  I would definitely consider removing my rear sway bar.  I would say, give it a try.  Everybody rides different terrain.  If you are cruising high speed fire roads you might want to keep it.  Desert and dunes you might need it.  Here in North East PA its very rocky and slow.  Most riding is done at 15 MPH.  In my opinion a sway bar is not really necessary.  I will do more testing and will probably end up removing it.  Just my 2 cents.

I'm sure the EX is very different with the extra width and I did run one ATV without it for a while and yeah, if I ran slow rough stuff all the time, that would be the way to go. Way smoother and lots of articulation. But..I gota throw it sideways at speed once in a while and this narrow 53 as is feels like it's going to fall on it's side half the time. And now that I have some tires with some traction..it just won't slide as easy...so it's even worse.

Thank you for the input,  I'm on the fence of taking them off,  maybe just to try it?

You can always try it, then put it back on if you don't like it.

I have a '96 Chevy truck I use mainly for mudding and hauling stuff. When I got it, the sway bar end links were rusted off. I just cut the ends of the bar off with a torch, since the bolts were rusted real bad. No problems, even on the highway.

I agree.  Take off the end link and zip tie it off.  It takes about 30 seconds.  Go for a nice long ride and report your findings.  Like I said when I tested mine it was hard to notice a difference.  Good luck.

Stiffining the shock settings might help.... My ex has alot of "sway" on the 2nd to lowest setting on the shock and a noticeably less amount on the stiffer settings IMO.....
