Seat belt rev limiter issue
« on: June 29, 2018, 01:26:20 PM »
I installed 4 point harnesses in my 2017 Zforce 800. I knew about the driver side seat belt sensor wires (from reading in this forum), so I cut the wires to the seat belt connector and crimped them together to "bypass" it. Problem is that the seat belt indicator is still flashing and the rev limiter is keeping me <16mph?? Was I supposed to ground one of the wires or something? I know SUPERATV sells a plug for $28 :o(which seems ridiculous for a plastic connector I assume simply has a jumper in it) Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Chad

AHAH!! I just figured out that the 2017 Zforce 800 Trail is wired differently(and possibly the 2018's) The connection was working perfectly BUT they changed it so that engaging the belt BREAKS the connection to inhibit the rev limiter, NOT the other way around, so I simply separated the wires and taped the ends which made the seat belt indicator stop flashing and was able to finally exceed 16mph! :D Is there a way to make this post easier for others to find so that they don't make the same mistake I did by wiring or soldering them together?
