Seat Belt Issues

Wondering if anybody has had any issues with factory seat belts. Drivers side seat belt locked and would not release. Glad it will be covered under warranty.

Yes I have a 2020 Zforce 800 ex and my drivers side seatbelt is locked up too. They are replacing it under warranty

The problem is that the mechanism is exposed to the debris from the left rear tire. The mechanism isn't serviceable. Once it is contaminated with dirt and mud and begins to rust, it's just a matter of time before it fails again.

Block off that hole underneath the mechanism if you can to extend its service life.

I chose to replace mine with a 4 point harness at half the cost of a factory replacement.

I've had trouble with mine also.  When I took my Z8 in for some other warranty work I asked them to look at the seat belt also.  They took it out and cleaned it up, but no replacement.  It worked fine for about the first 50 miles and now it isn't working right again.  One thing that I've found is when I pull the belt out of the spool, if I don't pull it out to the very end, it seems to work most of the time.  What I am going to do is put the seat belt on to where it fits and then put a clip at the point where the belt goes through the ring, so the belt will not retract at all.

Before I went to another harness mine used o get stuck too. I used to blast it out with air and spray it well with a dry lube. Tended to last a good while before it needed it again. Also found if I pushed-in on the two parts it would release easier sometimes. Still..POS latches for off road use.

I used this stuff:

Mine is totally retracted in and locked. Dealer is ordering a new one under warranty. Looking for a quick fix till parts come in. I have dry lube spray. So if I  lube it then squeeze the ends of the housing it might release?

Tap the sides and actually tap the tang into the receiver a little. One of the things that happens is that when it pulls hard to come apart..like during woops, it screws-up the latch parts that locks through the center hole. Reversing that action sometimes lets it release.

Well I sprayed dry lube and squeezed hard on the ends and it released! Go figure. I was out on the trails yesterday and messed with it for about 15 min. and no luck.
Thank You.. 8)

I have had to take mine apart a couple times to clear out the rust and dry lube it...be careful to only take apart the mechanism side and not the retractor spring like I did...if the spring pops out it turns into a jackpot to get back in there but it can be done

Mine won't release if I'm on a steep incline.

There is a little steel ball in there that’s acts like a lock if you flip over...mine was rusted and drier than a popcorn fart...take it apart and clean it up/dry lube and you should get some time out of it...I have got 400km since my last clean out and I seized up at 550km last time so I’m prob due soon
