I've been trying like he77 to get the turn signals working on this Z and I want to change out/add different toggles to the dash.  I'm not a young man anymore and trying to find a place to lay on my back in the foot area is near impossible.  So, decided to pull the front plastic and see just how involved it was.  Not that bad, really.

Remove windshield, mirrors, and take out the front two bolts that hold the roof on.  Remove 8 allen-head bolts that hold the front two bars on and remove those ROPS bars.

Take the hood out and remove the front storage box.  One 10mm bolt and 10 or so phillips head screws.

Remove all the body clips along the front plastic upper black fenders.  You'll also need to take out 2 of the clips that are in the body colored part of the side plastic.  The flares (if you have them) can stay on.  Pull the fenders back and you'll see a phillips head screw around the headlamp area and one towards the back/side near the front roll bar.  Remove both of those.  Along the front, there are another two phillips head screws that need to come out.

At the center console/instrument cluster/dash you'll need to take out the two lower allen-head screws on the bottom, and also remove that lower tray under the center of the dash (2 10mm bolts on the underside, then pull on it).

At this point the whole front plastic should just slide towards the passenger compartment, up and over the front roll bars, and then I just tilted it up.  All of your wiring is right there.  All told, barring beer breaks and staring at the TV, it's about a half hour job.  I'd been dreading it, but it wasn't that bad.  Looks like a mess, but should go back to together easy.

Yeah, and there is no way that instrument cluster will come out from the front.  There are 4 or so mounting points on the back side of it that you cannot get to without taking it up like I did.  Also, the passenger side glove box has waaaay too many mounting points.  There's about 4 bolts that hold it on that go up through the top.  Overkill.

So that's why there has been so many "choice words" about removing the pod and glove box.

I just went through the effort to replace by kill switch and it was a pain doing it from underneath.

I didn't really want to remove the windshield and ceiling storage bag along with all the rest, but next time, I just might have too.

I get that.  My windshield is a SuperATV version so it velcros on/off in less than a minute.  I didn't remove the storage bag, I have the front half version, and I just left it attached to the front bars.  This job really wasn't that bad.  I will say owning a good pair of body clip pullers is key.  Dirt/mud gets in them suckers and the centers won't pull out without a fight.  I like these the best.
