Rocker Switch
« on: September 15, 2020, 04:49:44 PM »
What/where is the best way to add rocker switches on the dash of a 2017 zforce 800ex. I bought a winch and stereo rocker switch. Tried to remove the switch panel (removed the two front and bottom screws but panel still won't come out)

Thanks for the help

There are I think two blanks already in it. Just pop the plugs out and install there. Wire from underneath or pull the storage tray out from the hood and go in that way. If not those two use one of the plugs to mark another spot for a switch after confirming nothing behind it. Use a multi-tool to cut the piece out. Piece of cake- I have them all over as well as USB ports for cameras, GPS..and other stuff.

Agree, but there are 5 existing toggles on the bottom of the dash.  Cutting a big hole might actually give you space for 7 of those toggles (they are expandable), and then having the hole would give you room to get your hands in there to get the wiring squared away.  Just a thought.  I haven't done it, yet, but that was something I was considering.

Don't know of this helps at all but when I was looking behind the dash for places for switches and things I found some areas that were open enough to install switches and stuff that had depth less then 2" or so. I marked them on photos so in case I needed it later. Some you can get to from underneath, some from behind the storage tray after removal...some..like over the steering column I don't know.  Anyway I did use some spots.
