Red light on dash
« on: July 18, 2015, 09:59:12 AM »
Is anyone else besides me having an issue with this red light on your dash coming off and on from time to time?

I went into some water that was deeper then it looked and flooded it. It turned right back on and I did the necessary oil changes. The Z8 rides perfectly fine, but it's still coming on randomly. Not sure what to make of it. Any thoughts?

If it is the mil light and blinking, than there is a fuel fault. On constantly than  it is a uncleareed/stored fault. The service manual calls for a PDA to pull the code. I have not used this scanner before so I can't be much help. Might have to stop by a dealer to make it go away.

Does the ZForce have and ODB2 port like a car or truck where a scanner can be attached?

No the Z8 doesn't use ODBII
The light you see on is the EFI sysytem and code reference light.
You can grasp the code by turning key to start position but not firing engine. count the blinks
I'm guessing as you have the light coming intermittently that its a bad connection, or a unhappy sensor.
