I wanted a different shifter so my buddy who is a machinist and I came up with this.

I am going to cut down the button on top a little and maybe shorten the entire shaft about a inch

When you cut the tube down, I would run the die down to where you need it first than cut it off so you don't have to worry about crooked threads. It is soft and will go easy.
