Parking Brake For 2023 Zforce 800 Trail
« on: May 01, 2023, 05:44:31 PM »
Anyone come-up with a after market parking brake.  Getting tired of using a wedge between the foot brake and steering wheel.

There are some out there with many mount types-non specifically for any CFM though. Here's a few:

https://www.amazon.com/UTV-Maverick-Activated-Parking-Brake/dp/B07XR5HDBG

A guy I ride with adapted one of these to his Wildcat Trail.

I think this one would suck:

This one is cheap enough:

Here's another pin-type but a better price:

Another option might be one of these manual line locks. Just have to rout either the front or the rear brake line into the cab to a convenient spot.

Looked at all of those except for the one from Amazon.  The only problem with all of them is they would require a considerable amount of metal work to get them to work on the 2023.  The one from Amazon would require a complete re-routing of the brake line. Thanks for the info.

If any CFMoto dealers look at this, please see if existing parts will work on the 2023 models. I'm sure some fab may be needed, like cutting the cubby hole that where the parking brake lever came thru on pre-2023 models, and brackets to hold the lever in place.

This is the caliper for my 2022 Zforce 800 Trail, and is used on the 2023 Uforce 600.

This is the caliper for the 2023 Zforce 800 Trail. The base mounting looks identical to the 2022, the floating side is just missing the parking brake hardware. It should be easy for a dealer to just unbolt the 2023 caliper, then test fit the 2022 caliper.

If it works, a dealer could put together a kit to sell with calipers, cables & brake handle

I wonder about retrofitting the park/emergency brake for a '17 and earlier 800 to one of these E brake-less models. I am lucky enough to have such model and I was delighted to find the E brake lever actuates a disk brake on the rear driveline. This is a manually operated and entirely independent brake to the machine's service brakes. The service brakes could fail completely and you still have an operating brake on the rear, and if you are in 4wd, a brake working on all 4. This was an elegant system and why CFM discarded it for an E brake that just consisted of another way to engage the service brake, I can't imagine, let alone the later still baffling decision to eliminate a park/emergency brake altogether!
But I'd think the parts to install a pre '18 E disk brake should be a bolt-o,n I'd think.

I feel the same way..so glad I have this type too. I would sure look into installing any and all parts needed to make it happen on a new one....hands-down.
