Has anyone had some success painting the roll cage without having to bring it to a specialty shop.  I'm considering painting mine up to another color and I'm unsure how to go about it.

The existing cage paint surface seems to be corse enough to be primed over but I would like to get some feedback from others if they have done this.

Not yet but I think it is power coated so matching it exactly will be a chore. I did find the flat black rustolium is pretty close.

I'm actually hoping to change the color to something other than black.  Hopefully someone will chime in and let us know if they were successful.

I did some research and found a site that claims powder coat is an excellent paint base to be painter over.

On my first ZForce I also used a Rust-Oleum flat black for touch up that blended very well with the cage however this time I'm hoping to change the color.

Maybe try a plasti dip color. Adheres well and you can just peel it off if you want to change or don't like it. 
It's a rubber spray can...cheap
