OTD price for a Z800EX, what is your favorite dealer?
« on: April 10, 2016, 02:00:13 AM »
I have been researching for a few weeks now. Still kinda really into this CF Moto Z 800EX. What is a good price to pay for a Z 800EX? I am currently in West Virginia, but am a resident of NC so I should be able to avoid tax/title fees if I buy in WV,MD state. PA charges Tax and title even if I am out of state.

I am also interested in hearing feedback on your favorite dealer regarding warranty issues, service, and pickup/delivery (if yours does that) as well as turnaround times on repairs.

If the Z800EX will fit in my 69 1/4 inch door opening I am leaning heavily toward this model. (I posted a thread about that as well)

My local dealer quoted me 12,200 OTD for a new z800 EPS. I did not get a quote on an EX, but I'm going to look at another dealer next Monday who has a z800EX. He has it listed for 11,599, but that is also crossed out and listed as 'Request a quote'. Keep in mind that I'd have to add about $600 for taxes and $500 for destination fee/ tags and registration. So probably around 12,400 OTD, assuming he drops the initial price $300.

Not sure how much wiggle room they have on these, as they are already priced pretty low for what you are getting. It does look a LOT more appealing until they add that 'extra' $1,100-1,200 onto the total. By the time I add extra goodies like the full windshield and doors, I'm getting up there in price past where I want to be. I'd ike to buy a leftover 2016 model later this year to help reduce the initial purchase price on my end.

Yea, once you get over 12k other Japanese models are within reach. I was hoping to find someone say they are selling in the sub 10k OTD price range.

You'd have to call around and find a leftover 2015 to get sub 10k. I even found a *new* 2014 at a dealer about 2 hours drive from me. It can be done, but it will be a MUCH longer drive than you want to make. I'm seeing the same prices on every leftover, so it appears they are going by a guide on these leftover models.

That's about as low as you can possibly go on a new model. Assuming taxes/reg account for $1,200 of that, you got each for10,3k. That's what I'm seeing for an 800 standard around here.

I know how good my price was, I worked hard to get to it. I paid $10,800 for the machines (each one) and the rest ($700.00) was taxes & registration.

Cheapest 'new' EX I could find: http://www.atvtrader.com/dealers/Leo's-South-782288/listing/2014-Cfmoto-Z-FORCE-800-EX-113236621

At that price, I could actually pay to have it shipped to PA and still come in lower than my local dealers !  :P

I am a NC resident however staying in WV. I can side step the taxes and avoid the title fees as well. I just end up with a certificate of origin instead of a title, doesnt really matter to me as long as I have a paper saying its mine and can sell it privately if I chose. I will call the CF Moto dealer 2 hrs away and see what they say. I know he has 2015 800 EX leftover.

There's a place called "Wholesale Motorsports" or "Discount Motorsports" or something that I found on craigslist, using searchtempest. They were advertising them for $10500, with $100.00 delivery, but you had/have to do your own setup. Guy there was kinda a clown, though.
