No start issue 2021 ZForce800 Trail

1st time with this issue. Electrical system is completely stock. Batt was charged. Ran some pretty rough, dry but dusty Mojave Desert to mountain, sandy, dusty, rocky trails, (25 miles). Parked at an open claim, mined some agate and loaded up. That’s when it happened. Park, foot on brake, turned key, charged EFI and no crank. Tried pumping the brake pedal to cycle the switch and nada. Tested fuses, put a battery jump starter on it and same result. No crank. Jumped the starter and it turned over but no start. Pulled a couple of relays but couldn’t get 1/2 started relays to budge, thought I might damage them if I kept trying. Sun was dropping fast so opted to get towed out by my buddy via my front winch cable. Mistake. Thought I was going to die for sure. After a few harrowing miles of that nonsense We stopped. I tried the key and bingo, it fired. I motored the rest of the way to camp. Now I’m kinda reluctant to ride out in the boonies for fear of it happening again. Any ideas? Relays whack? Where can I get replacements.

CVT exhaust rerouted and raised
1 1/2” lug centric wheel spacers installed
Bumped up to 27” tires picked up 1 3/4” ride ht.
Added 2” lift kit. Raised actual ground clearance height by 1 1/2”.
Added aftermarket remote battery charging post
R1 Daytona Blue seats added
Aluminum door inserts added

Not usually relays when there isn't any reaction on them...usually more that they aren't triggered. May be a loss of power supply from things like a bad key switch or kill switch, or s system's power issue from a bad connector or even a bad ground. For yours bouncing around seems to have effects so I would look to a harness situation like connectors first. But test the resistance through the contacts in the switches as well. There were some that did have some issues with the internal connections inside the main fuse holder that as long as it broke connection while running it would continue getting power from the stator...but once it gets shut off there was no connection to the battery until it cooled down and/or got wiggled some. The fuse will be fine...its the crimps inside the plastic. Look for signs of heating...as in deformed plastic or melting. Test for resistance through it as well. Should be none.

Thanks NMK. Will check all connections you mention and chase down this gremlin. No more unaccompanied trips beyond walking distance until I find the definitive culprit.

Did you notice anything else that didn't work when it quit? If it happens again, see if there are headlights and dash lights. That will help on where to look down stream from the battery...and do check all the battery connections and the cable ends.

Did you try putting in neutral to start. I have had a few times in park it did not want to turn over. Like the machine thought it was in gear. But fired up fine in neautral. Just a idea..

Mine does the same thing..... Step on the brake and it will crank.
2022 800 trail, blue, kfi 60" plow, satv widows and lower doors. Kwt separator, unifilter.

Moving to Arco, Id in April 2024... Should be something like utv heaven.
