No power
« on: June 02, 2020, 11:48:28 AM »
Something strange. Took the kids down the road to the mailbox yesterday in the z800 and everything was fine.   Started it up to pull in the garage last night and all was fine.  Now I go to move it out of the garage and there is no power when I turn the key.  Instrument panel or anything.  Lightbar works well and is really bright.  Any ideas?

No system power so start with the main fuse and it's holder as many have then go bad internally. Then check the kill switch just for GP, then check the battery terminals, then the distribution fuses and finally grounds.

Thanks.  The main fuse would be under the seat?

Yes, and have the key on while wiggling it around and watch the dash...see if it flickers.

No luck so far.  Checked the main fuse, checked the fuses in fuse holder, checked the kill switch.   Found that my positive battery post is almost snapped off but still holding connection though.

Figured my first real issue would be hard to track down.

Hi, I have a problem with my Zforce 800, the battery was running perfectly and one day it just didn't work, i recharged it and it was just fine, the day after was dead again, and my guess was the battery life came to and end.
I have bought a new battery and when I put it on and connected ... nothing happens no lights, no dashboard everything completely dead, I've checked all of the fuse and everything is fine, I don’t know where is the kill switch located and I haven’t managed to find it!!
Can you help me out to find out what and where is the problem? and where is the Kill switch?
Regards

The kill switch won't stop the lights. It will stop anything engine-related though and it's on the dash under the pod. Most often what is going on comes from the system power lead being left off the positive terminal when changing the battery. It does tend to fall in behind it and is missed. Check for it and any missing grounds. Also there have been many failed main fuse holders..not the fuses..but the holders. Bad internal connections so check that too.

Check the glass fuse on the battery.  It may look good, but the end caps fail inside. I just twisted and jimmyd on mine with the key on and watch the dash.  It flickered letting me know that was it.

If that is your problem, swap that garbage glass fuse out for a standard fuse and holder.

Hi, yes it was the system power lead , as you said it was hidden behind the battery, as soon as it was connected on it place , the dashboard lights were on and the motor started right a way.
and i went for a road ride , and when I was back, I parked the CF turned off the motor and get off to realise that the reverse lights on the roof were on , I rapidly start the engine on and the lights still were on, but there is no day lights an no lead beams on the roof . And i immediately turned off the engine . what can this be ??

I guess I don't fully understand. CFM has no lighting on the roof and no reverse lights ...at least here in the US.

Hi, yes you did understand and I do know you guys don’t use them but here in Norway almost every vehicle uses this extra lights because of the long winter and dark long nights with many wildlife going over the roads. And well it comes with this extra lights as an extra accessory, just like the winch .Do you have any idea, why I ended up with no short lights ( day lights) and the ones on the roof? And why the reverse lights ( also on the back of  the roof) are on all the time? Thanks for reply me:)

I do not know but it's clear they are being powered when they shouldn't be so it would be just a batter of tracing. Its likely a relay is either stuck or actuated when it shouldn't be.
