LT truck tires on a 800T
« on: November 02, 2021, 05:35:42 PM »
Looking for a tougher tire than stock and little more ground clearance. Wanting to stay as close to 50" wide as possible. Type of driving is FS roads moderate trails, gravel roads. My dare devil days are long behind mo ;D. Also, not a big mud guy. So is a LT truck a good option????

Sure. People put DOT-approved tires on them all the time. Just remember to put a little wider tire on the wider rims on the back to maintain the same diameter all the way around.

If the LT trucks do work, I would do a square set up, so I would be purchasing new rims, all 4 the same. Maybe 15 inch ???

I would do that but...finding a 15" rim with a 4/110 bolt pattern won't be easy....at least not around here. Plenty of 14" though.

Is my thinking correct that I am looking for a 4/110 with a 5+2 offset to try and say at 50" wide?? Will try and find a 28" tall by 14" LT tire.

Well, that's as close to the factory off-set as you will get in an aftermarket wheel. For example my stock rears are 14X8s...as most are..but their offset is actually 6.33+1.67. What's important here is the 1.67" is a little less then the 2" so you will be close to an inch wider. If you stay with 9 or 10" wide tires on those 5+2s it will be a bit tighter but I think you will be fine. Just don't go with 11s or 12 wides.
