Lost Bearings
« on: June 11, 2021, 09:25:58 AM »
Started hearing engine knocking and oil pressure light started coming on.

Checked oil filter and lots of metal and copper.
Decided to pull out engine and ordered a new one.  Should be here next week.

Took off throttle body and inspected intake.  Not good.  Lots of dirt.
I have been running a uni filter with pre filter since day one and clean it after every ride.
I’m suspecting that I might have a tear or something going on with the intake boot.

An intake tract looking like that is consistent with top end damage alright, but with lost oil pressure and multi-metal swarf in the oil I wonder what else might be going on.
For a nation to believe it can tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and believing he can raise himself by pulling on the handle - Winston Churchill

Plan on doing a complete tear down with my son.  A little learning for him and find out what all went bad.
