Looking for torque specs
« on: July 12, 2019, 09:43:36 PM »
Any service manual link I click on takes me to a dead end.
2016 800 ZForce- I removed the rear hubs to replace the bearings. I also removed the control arm to straighten the ears. Can someone point me towards the torque specs for this machine?
Thank you,
Ben

Although a bit confusing they are in the service manual. I'b look them up for you but I don't have access to one on this particular device.

Thank you NMKowieRider.
Those would probably not be foot pounds, so I am thinking Nm, correct?
And "Nut Rim Shaft" do you think that would be the castle nut on the rear axle?

The problem I found with the manual is most places that needed to be in Nm are marked and the ones that state just a spec are in Ftlbs or Inlbs. I know the axle nuts are at or over 80Ftlbs on most other machine but I haven't seen one at 150. When I use a Nm converter that comes down to the 90..ish ftlb range which makes better sense but then when you convert the lower ones it's too low. So...the manual's translation is also a problem with these specs. In some cases you will have to use your own judgement...ie if a bolt starts stretching before getting to the spec, better stop.

Another example is that they call for Rim Mount nuts. Says there are 16 so you know those are lug nuts...and we know you can't take a 10mm stud or any aluminum wheel much past 65ftlbs...yet it states 80. 56-64 is normal for most all A/UTV wheel lugs so... No way 80 can be correct.
But if you use something like this converter on those high ones, it seems more likely...so try it and on the lower ones, try the ftlbs
