That is your weep tube from the chamber between the water pump seal and the engine oil seal. When either starts to leak, it's supposed to exit the hole on the bottom of the chamber...but...with the tube, it can't without filling that tube up completely first. You need to get that hose to lay down so it drains and keeps that chamber drained. What you are seeing is the green coolant that is leaking past the mechanical seal. Most all CFMs do this at the start but most quit if a couple hundred miles. If it does not stop, or has started after having a few hundred miles on it, your dealer has a fix for it as some had mechanical seals were defective and just never sealed. Keep the recovery bottle full for now. Mine did it too but quit before I hit 200 miles. Also my 2015 didn't have that tube on it...it just has an open hole on the bottom.

Nmk, I asked my dealer about the direction of the tube, I know you said it should go down, but they told me it's supposed to be pointing up like that.  Soooooo..... what IS the correct way?

mine is pointed down, it is a drain so I see no reason to point it up. Mine started to leak after I filled my reservoir as it seemed a little low. It was on the way to the dealer anyway so I told them it was leaking. They told me I overfilled it.  Well I didn't It showed low in the tank, but when it got back to that level it stopped leaking again so I guess it will just stay showing low.

Well, the weep chamber MUST drain so neither seal is riding in the other's leaked fluids and to ensure no passage of fluids between the two systems. If the fluid level must fill upwards to overflow the tube's end which is by the way.. well above the chamber...the chamber is and does stay.. full of fluid. The port being on the bottom may allow some air to be trapped in it but not enough to keep the seals dry from the other's leaked fluid...either oil or coolant. Also all other manufacturers that have a system like this always have their drain tubes  straight down so that it always drain completely. Never in a way that traps coolant inside like this. They also put a flapper check valve on the end so trash can't go back up the tube...which Kawasaki makes a good one I'll be putting on mine someday.

CFM's do come from the factory looped up so your dealer is correct in that that's how he gets them but...it's incorrect to preform the function it was intended.

One more thought..I would think if you dunk that loop under muddy water enough times, some of that would work it way back into the chamber...where it would grind away on the seals and rust the shaft...and corrode the aluminum. Mine didn't even come with a tube on it so that could be an easy possibility. Good thing we don't have any water around here...lol

I just called my local dealer and described the problem and they suggested bringing it in to check it out.

Interesting.  Mine is also pointed up and holding coolant.  I did notice I was a little low on coolant in the overflow tank, so added to the bottom line.  I'll point the drain tube down and see if it continues to leak.  I don't have but 60 miles on mine right now.

Seems most of them leak a little at the start then quit. Some however don't and those need attention

Here what Kawasaki does. Out the bottom like ours but then a flapper check/chamber, then on down to unload under the skid plate.

Dropped the Beast off yesterday at the dealer. They mentioned there was a recall for that problem.

The service department at my dealer said that cfmoto told them it should be pointing up.

The weep chamber has to drain when one of the seals is leaking. That's a little tough to do when there is a tube on it.. with the end higher then the chamber itself... Fortunately the big boys figured this out long ago. Someday maybe CFM will as well...or at least copy one of them. In the meantime, do as you will. :)
