Seriously considering the Wolverine R Spec, CFMoto 800EX, or a Razr S 900.......

The CF Moto z800EX is most appealing to me from looks, value, and features like nice adjustable seats, tilt wheel, etc.. The little fixes required is what I am concerned about here.

The Wolverine R Spec is appealing in that its a Yamaha, they are usually very refined and have the bugs worked out before production, and the storage.

The Razr S 900, I know its the fastest (not my main concern) but for I find myself drawn to it, but feel like I am gettin shorted on features for my dollars....

If you had it to do over again what would you buy? Another 800EX or ???? Please include your mileage, and any problems you had with your 800EX.

I keep reading and reading, so far I have found loose a arms, wheel bearings, park brakes needing adjusted, shifter needing adjusted, air filter issue, and a shock failing because the rod end unthreaded from the shaft.... Not picking onn this brand, I know Polaris has their share of issues, but the Yamaha seems problem free altogether (maybe cuz its a new release?)

Iv got the 800ex not a single problem yet aftermarket world coming on strong for these machines more stuff coming out all the time iv got like 650 miles on mine  not saying if the 900 rzr was a little closer in price I wouldn't of got that but for the money I am very happy with what I have  everyone around me keeping a close eye on mine to c how it holds up...they all made fun of me at the beginning but after showing up a few of them name brands got them pretty interested in the cfmoto brand  and I believe with all the feed back we've gave to cfmoto they will get all them little probs figured out and b a top competitor in the states

Thank You for the reply and info.  Most forums I participate in have a sticky topic called for example " 800EX Common Fixes" I think this would help ease any concerns for potential future owners like myself. We all know every brand and model has things that need to be addressed, being open and forthcoming about these issues and fixes would for sure make me feel better about an unknown brand.

I'm very happy with mine. Few minor problems but I find that the dealer AND Cfmoto are more than willing to make their customers happy.  I was looking at the Yamaha Viking before I got my Z800EX. But for nearly 1/2 the price I have an awesome machine that has already took my wife and I to some beautiful scenery. So, to answer your question. No. I wouldn't change my purchase.

Same here as gfmoto, we've got 250 miles on ours now and have no problems.
Runs great, with two brothers the sound is awesome, we love ours. No we wouldn't trade it for another brand.

I love mine. If the R-Spec had a V-twin, I probably would have got one. But, then again, if it had a bigger motor, the price would probably be too high for me.

As for problems, I've just had a few minor ones.
Bolts came loose on power steering motor bracket. I put the bolts back in, no more trouble.
Throttle cable was sticking. A little WD40 fixed it.
Gear linkage and E-brake needed adjustment. Took care of that myself.
Fan quit working due to thermal switch. Warranty fixed it. They are suppose to be using different switches now.
One shock is leaking. I may have waited too long for the warranty to cover it, but warranty will fix it if I didn't wait to long.

Have (2) EX EPS 800's, 2016's with about a hundred miles on them, love them, only issue so far is shifting stick needs some adjustment (dealer is going to do this for me on both of them). Past that, they're quick, get 15-18 MPG, not too loud, VERY stable, I'm really glad I bought them vs a Razor, myself.

Thanks guys! I found some dealers close enuff to me that I may end up buying a 800EX, plus I think I can actually get it thru my trailer door which saves me the hassle of buying/owning/tagging and storing another trailer.

I like my box trailer, and have only owned it for about 8 mths and its setup for hauling 2 bikes, and for moving furniture. I use it for storage of various bikes, and stuff when the need arises as well.

3300 km on mine with the foot on the floor and no problem.
I love it and not regret my choice.
With my mods, no problem to keep up with a 900s and the structure is more solid on the CF.
Also here with the snow the stability is far superior with the 4x4 system of the Zforce vs the RZR. IF the engine can last 10,000km like the Polaris i Will be very happy.

The Wolverine is to slow for me. Only 85 km/h is not ok for the long ride on dirt road but i am sure it will be the best of 3 for the reliability. If you dont need more speed, you cant be wrong with the Yamaha.
