One way bearing (800 ex)
« on: October 09, 2015, 07:43:40 PM »
Well, as I had told you the problem I had in the clutch, my dealer authorized me to disarm. When removing the cover, the one way bearing fell off, so i dont know if it was in the correct position, looking closely it i can see some roller marked, cant see another problem, the clutch was perfect, and the clutch housing too, and bearing in the case cover. i will post a picture
The question is how it goes, it has a few inscriptions and an arrow showing a direction, backside, nothing.
I think the engine turns to the tail of the utv, so the arrow must be in that direction, facing to me, the side that has nothing, is this correct?
One more thing, i couldnt open the secondary, i srcrewed a 6mm bolt but he opens a little and nothing, then i screwed up the thread, i think i have yo make a new one.

There should be two tapped holes in the secondary. It might be binding when you are trying to open it up. Might be the end of the screw is too ruff, digging into the other side or too short of thread on the screw. Might also be at the helix. Try tapping lightly on the back pulley. Did you strip the clutch holes? If you did than there is metal inserts you can install.

Only one of my holes is threaded too. Also, the two cover bolts that are at the dow pins are longer then the rest and will open the clutch farther. I guess if the threads are stripped it's a mute point now but maybe you can tap the other hole.

The one way bearing should have writing on one side. The writing faces the inside toward the cylinder.

Sorry, I have not yet had mine apart. emersonsc has though. I do know that when I was tightening the nut on the primary it would tighten against the one way.

Correct it is M6 x 1.0  Just check the hole size with a drill bit before trying to tap it. Too small and it won't go well. here is a link about the inserts I was talking about. They work well. I use high strength loc-tite when I put them in. You can find them a lot cheaper if you look around.
