Do any of you all haul the Z800EX in a box trailer? I have a brand new 6x14 box trailer, the door opening is 69 1/4 inches. The Yamaha Wolverine R Spec I am thinking about buying wont fit thru it, requiring me to also buy yet another trailer. Will the Z800EX fit thru this door opening? I dont mind flattening the tires to haul it, and will consider lowering ride height on shocks as well.

Listed right with the specs says the stock height on the EX is 72" and the 800/trail is 70". So...no to 69.25. 8 bolts will take off the upper cage or 6 bolts will take off the roof and it might with lower tire pressure.

I will be hauling any side by side I choose about 75% of the time I wanna go riding, so removing the top and reinstalling it every time I ride will kinda get old. I did read the specs, just like on all models. (The wolverine stated 74 inches but actually measured 77)  I was hoping to get a definite yes or no just by airing down the tires.

Maybe someone with a stock Z800EX would be so kind as to flatten their tires and give me a roof measurement? Thanks for the feedback! I am chomping at the bit!

Just measured mine with full air and with the 27" tires. At the tallest point on my 800 it is 71.5". Guessing letting the air out would drop it about 2" but I won't be doing that.

Thank You Sir, I knew the actual measurements would differ from the mfr spec sheet, just like the Wolverine R spec. (it measured taller than advertised specs) where is the CF Moto measures shorter. I am thinking the Z800ex in stock form could be manipulated to fit thru my 69 inch trailer door by letting the air out of the stock size tires, along with keeping rear shock preload to a minimum, and maybe some sand bags in the bed to help squat the rear a tad more. These things have 10 plus inches of suspension travel, so surely I can get it to squat thru the door opening...

Could also put a few friends in it to get some squat while it goes through the door. :)

Another option is to chop the cage down. Some look pretty good after. There seems to be plenty of head room to start. I don't forsee a problem unless you are very tall. Just having to go through all of that to load/unload twice will get very old especially when you want to get going. Yes added cost to whatever you buy but just something to think about.

I was gonna use sand bags. Once inside I will strap whatever I buy down to the floor so it doesnt bang up against the roof of the trailer the entire ride.

Yea, that is an option. Personally I think the rear of the cages of both the Z800ex and the Wolverine are too tall.
