Half doors?
« on: September 14, 2017, 05:07:38 PM »
I know doors have been discussed ad nauseum on here, but I just saw these on FB recently and would love to have a pair.  Anybody seen these or know anything about them?  Must not be offered in the states.  Canada folks?

I haven't seen them around here yet.

There was a dealers conference in Ontario last week and they had several new reveals and one was similar half doors. I am trying to find out who makes them, and if CFMOTO Canada will be adding them to there accessory list. Pics attached.

Thanks for the response.  Yeah, I like those, too.  I like the idea of the half door, or the more open concept.  Just looking to keep the protection (or at least perceived protection) of the nets, with something that is convenient.  I hate the nets.  Always caught my left foot trying to exit, so I took off the driver's side.

I really like those half doors in the first photo on this thread.
The open bottom part will take away some of the In-A-Bathtub feel of full doors on a cab as narrow as that on our SxS's and the lower top edge, especially with the drop center, looks like it would be much more comfortable to lay a forearm along than Rodin's design that goes in a straight line from top of the front fender to top of the box rail. I'm afraid Rodin's doors would be so high that I'd have to keep my arms in at all times and feel like I'm sitting in a bucket.
And these ones obviously don't require removing any of the rops bars!

Now where do they come from? How can I get some?

Agree with all that.  We think alike when it comes to UTV doors.  One of the folks that replied to the thread on FB indicated the 1000 models would come with those doors.  I've yet to see a 1000 with any doors on it, so take that with a grain of salt.  I know I had seen one other photo of a Zforce with similar doors, and I want to say it was from South America.  I have to believe that if they are made somewhere, they could be shipped to either of us.  I need to check with my dealer, but I can only imagine we know more than they do.

The CFMOTO door is very comfortable to rest your arm, I tried that specifically. I really liked the lower net rather than closed in. Build quality is excellent & the fit, we will see what happens with the production doors.

I disliked the orginal Canadian door as it removed both of the rops bar, I questioned the certification after the removal. The main heavy bar remains in place so the integrity of the frame remains I've been told. Removal of the upper smaller bar opens the cab up nicely.

You are going to have a new dealer opening in Abbotsford, hopefully he will some of these new doors so you can check'm out  :)

Lots of new accessories from the Canadian distr.

So are you saying these half doors (in the photo above) will be offered and you've seen them in person?  Thx!

Those CF Moto doors look good to me too. If they don't rattle and are available in the colour and decals I'd give them a whirl.
Windzone.ca must be a site still building, all I could get it to do is set me up for a test ride on a CF Moto or subscribe to a newsletter.
Good things coming maybe.

Rodin quoted me 480 for a pair of half doors. he claimed there may be a problem with the doors lining up to the hinge mounts of his full door bracket..  Not sure if he already makes them but i took his reply as he would fab up a set for me at that price.. Im going to hold off i think and look into this a little deeper. I may even play with the welder for a door project this winter..

I ordered a couple of these hinges   ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/112660239425?ul_noapp=true  )  and am going to fab up a open half door to fit rodins full door hinge pins . That way i can pick and choose for the weather or type of terrain we will be in. I hate the nets also....   I have so many projects in the fire now, building a dump trailer and a trailer for moto so i do not have to use my car trailer..   The cold weather slows my sorry arse down big time  :)
