Gear Shift Lever Mod?

Has anyone done a mod on the gear shift lever? I was rest driving a z force and the gear shift was right where my right kess rests.

I need to go back and have a better look. Maybe bend the shift lever backwards.

It's a tube with a plastic piece inside that moves for the lock.
