Front and rear tire size

Is there any disadvantage in running the same size tire all the way around?

The majority say no as well as most manufacturers now. Its now the thing to do. The old thinking was on rear engined SxSs most of the weight is in the rear so to run the same tire pressure you need more volume as in a wider tire. Such is the thinking for the CFMs but many have now converted to a one size tire...it does take a one-size rim though where currently the stocks are 8"wide rears and 6s or 7s on front. Make them all 7s and the same offsets, then go with a 9 or 10" wide tire. You will need to run about 2 more PSI in the rear but...so what. :) The pluses are-one spare for all and you can rotate at will.

Without me sounding too ignorant, could you please explain the offset?

And for any IRS suspension system, the first number needs to be higher or equal to the second number meaning there has to be more inset then outset. As in 4+3, 4+2, 5+2, 5+3,or 4+4. No 2+4,3+4...ect. I suggest staying with a 7" wheel with 4+3 offset unless you really need to stay close to 50". Then look to 5+2s but watch out for the fronts cause it may get pretty close to the shocks.
