Filling the ZForce 800 Gas Tank

I filled my gas tank for the first time the other day, and like I have always done with my other SxS I filled it into the stem and pulled it into the enclosed trailer. The next day there was a puddle of gas on the floor and the top of the tank under the passenger seat was wet. Is this normal? Did I just over-fill it?

A great many have come from the factory with the fuel pump assembly not tightened down. It's just a threaded ring and easily tightened with a blunt object and hammer..being mindful its all Chinese plastic so don't over do it. Its under the passenger seat so take it out, look down and you will see it. Pic below. If you find it is tight, check the vent tube on top of the tank that it is still attached.

Thanks. That is what I was wondering/expecting. I will check if it is loose and will see if I can tap-tighten it with a mallet and wooden dowel.

Which is the vent tube on your pic, left or right?

It's not in the picture. Its to the left about 4"s and inward toward the center of the tank about 6-8".

If you were to take off the air box, you could see it like this. That's where the tank vent check valve is.

I will look at that if the black ring is already tight but I'd bet it is the ring because there was gas on top of the tank.

Lol it was very loose. Not even finger tight. I was able to slide the pump assembly around. It is now "light tap" tight. Thanks. If it leaks more I will tap it some more.
