EJK settings???
« on: April 16, 2016, 01:40:42 AM »
I got my EJK and Uni put on tonight, to go with my 2 Bros. I left it on the original setting which is supposed to be for a simple air filter and exhaust mod. I just went for a short ride because it was late. It seemed like I lost some power. I'm just wondering what settings some of you are using for similar mods at low altitudes. I'm between 1000 and 2000 ft. It seems to have a bog on the bottom end. That means it's probably too lean. It doesn't seem as peppy at higher speeds. Just looking for a starting point.

Hey spaceman, you know, I put a dynojet jet on mine and it also seems like I lost a little power, idles fine and good throttle response, but it won't turn more than 6600 on long straight stretches . I've also asked for any tunes peeps have used but no luck. Emerson uses a auto tune on his, but I'm not sure I want to try one as his just burned a piston.
Would like to richen it up a little but not sure how, as there's not much adjustment with the dynojet.

Rent ejk Afr gauge and check your ratios. You then then tune the settings for you needs. Easy as 123.
If it has Pistons or Tits you will encounter problems.

Yep,
Or just buy a wide band 02 gauge and weld a bung into your pipe. Fool proof tuning.

I fooled around with it yesterday. I think I got it pretty close. At the worst, it may be a little rich now, but no black smoke, so should be good now. I got more power out of it. I quickened the throttle response by lowering the b/g setting.

I didnt burn a piston up because of the Dyno. In fact, I didnt burn up a piston at all...

The head cracked and caused the motor to hydrolock which caused the front piston to literally explode, and the front piston seized up.

I would still recommend the PCV/Auto tune, but the autotune isnt meant as a permanent fixture.

Hey Emerson, thanks for clearing that up, as I thought it burned a piston from running lean.

I don't have any pics, but I mounted the unit up as high as I could behind the passenger seat. I put it up there to keep it out of mud and water and give it some protection. I figure by the time the mud gets that deep, my wife will have already beat my right arm black and blue and then bailed.

I'll have to check it again. I can't remember my settings. I think I may need to back off a little.
