DUST IN THE RIDER CABIN
« on: May 09, 2019, 10:22:47 AM »
What does everyone do to eliminate rider cabin dust????

I ride in pretty dusty areas and hate all the dust that swarms into the rider cabin area.  I have the hinged wind shield like NMK, solid back like NMK (yes, I totally copied his look), and doors.  In the process of working and cleaning my ride I noticed about a billion little places where the dust gets in: under the dash, odd 1/4 in holes in the firewall area (maybe for later after market options???), by the hand break, seat belt buckle in, old frame rails for stock netting and grab handle, etc.

AND, I have watched NMK's hot to videos and seen plenty of foam tucked in all kinds of places.  Clark, maybe a video of what you have done for dust abatement??

Lol..."abatement"..maybe slowed it down some. :)  Yeah all those holes need plugged and across the dash and hood plastics where I just used memory foam..and the e-brake boot...and I am working on better seals for the doors but first I "adjusted" them to be farther in at the bottom closing some gap.

The best two things I found so far is: Either be in front with the windshield up or.. ride on a rainy day or just after...lol.

There is one other thing I might try and that is a guy on here put an air foil on his roof that grabbed air and pushed it down behind the rear windshield pushing the dust cloud down..like one of those you used to see on old station wagons to keep the dust off the rear glass. He said it did work pretty well.

A little like this one:  https://roofrack.com.au/product/rear-dust-wind-deflector-1000mm-alloy-universal/

Dust in the cabin can be a huge problem. Our Windshields and Lexan Back panels have Dual Vents to control the swirl of air that sucks up dust from mostly behind the seats through the engine bay. We also add a soft panel below the Rear Window to help block that gap. When both Windshield & Rear Window Dual Vents are open, the air is somewhat forced out the back vents and controls air swirling with dust. We also have a Soft Rear Panel with a Zip Open Window. That can work the same way.
The culprit mostly is the solid Windshield that is un-vented. That creates draught and suction. If you can open your tilt windshield just a bit when running hard, that will help.
Pacific Eagle UTV Enclosures were the first manufacture to support CF Moto with aftermarket Cab Enclosures and Windshields. Today we manufacture 32 Cab Enclosure combos for the UForce 500, 600, 800 &1000. We also manufacture 28 Cab combos for the ZForce 500, 600, 800 & 950 Sport & 1000. We think we have pretty much got CF Moto covered. We have updated our name to Pacific Eagle Powersports.

I'm taking NMK's advise and sealing every opening that I can find including full doors.  This, along with limiting rides to really rocky, limited dust areas, I may live a few years longer.
