Cvt clutch ?
« on: May 28, 2017, 09:16:22 PM »
Hey guys new to the forum I bought at 14 zforce 800 couple weeks ago for 3000. It had been zandalized tires and seats slashed that's why it was cheap.
It has 800miles on it runs great. I resently went completely threw it to confirm it was good to go regularly maintenance plugs, all fluids battery and new tires. Any way I took it to a mudfest the other day and got the best wet herd it squealing like a pig. Of course I let it dry out but it's got me thing of replacing the belt with a better quality and also tinkering with the clutch settings I have seen videos on how to do it but no clear chart for what setting does what. For example like if you set it to this it will have more top but sluggish of the line.  So my question is Iam happy with the top speed it's way faster then I'll ever drive in the trails so looking for more mid range grunt so what setting would be good for that and also a web address for a good belt thanks for all the input

Without going that great detail, just set the secondary to the B2 position. We have videos on doing this as well as videos on how CVTs work.

B2 is a good overall position for the spring.  It will keep your top end the same and give you more off the line.  Here is a link I used for a Gates belt.  I thing the factory belt may be the best but they are ~$300 and the Gates belt is about $60.  I tried the Dayco belt and destroyed it in about 130 miles.  It just was not going to stand up to the abuse I was going to put it through.

Actually there is a better gates belt that is a bit more but is their carbon-core or "C" based for heavier applications ...like the Zs. Same number except with a C instead of a G in it. This one.

Also I wanted to add yours looks EXACTLY like mine (same colors and year and everything) before I started modding it for racing.

Without going that great detail, just set the secondary to the B2 position. We have videos on doing this as well as videos on how CVTs work.

Can I ask for a quick point to where one would find these videos?

Thanks!
