Hey guy I just got a quote for custom made doors all aluminum the metal shop said they could make the hinges too like jeep hinges but my question is does any one know a good latch mech. And how heavy are aftermarket doors ? Thanks

How much did they quote you?  The Russian doors have that type of lift off hinge already and work great.  You need "Bear claw" or "slam latches".  Dual stage latches are the best and that is what you will want or it will rattle.  Your much better off to just get some Russian doors from Rodin and be thrilled with the quality and fit.

120 a side with rivets panels and 180 welded  and then 60 a side for powder coat them. I think I'll go with the rivet so the skin can be swapped if it gets damaged or such. Do you know what the Rodin doors weigh by chance I'm gonna talk with the shop tonight before I pull the trigger cause I'd like to know the weight difference..

$120 per side is cheap i will give them that.  I can tell you there is NO WAY IN THE WORLD i would build them for that.  I question their ability to build a quality door by that price in all reality .  Plus your going to have $50 in latches.  Rodins doors weight like 12lbs (with the new door frame) per side.  But part of the factory CF Moto parts come off so its not a strictly 12lb gain.  I would guess you gain 8lbs or so per side with his doors

He gave me a tour of his shop does alot of custom stuff  flow jet machining and such he is a local guy my nabor told me about he said he was a retired aviation engineer I believe and my nabor showed me the bumpers the guy made for his bronco and they looked great like factory. So will see he's supposed to how me some cad deal with what it will look like so will see. Guess it's a gamble I'd would hate to tell him go ahead and then they look or fit like crap

I agree.  Im not saying he cant do it but it makes me suspect of it at that low of a price.  Either way keep us posted.

Sounds like a good deal and worth taking a chance. Does he have any photos of previous work?

I don't think he's done doors for a cfm before he showed me doors for a jeep that he does and he said he's done some for a ranger utility style. So will see I'll keep you guys posted
