I posted some of these photos in another thread, but I thought I would just start this one to give others some ideas on adding a stereo.  I love music and when I started looking at the Zforce, I immediately started thinking of how I could put as much boom in this thing as possible.  The first few pictures are of my old setup, which is now gone!  I wanted something that I could hear better while cruising down back roads, not just on the mud trails.  After looking through some other forums, I thought I would build a custom roof setup.  BTW, I asked a local audio shop about building me a custom roof setup with similar speakers that I am going to use.  I was quoted $1400.  Are you kidding me?!?  Anyway, here is my progress so far.  Doesn't look pretty yet, but it should be done tomorrow!  It would be great if some others would share how you added tunes to your rig.

I just bought bought an all in one roof radio it's was like 4 or $500 then brought it to a audio shop and added kicker tower speakers, amp, and of course a big marine battery under the seat!

Few things to finish up but got it mounted up for the ride this weekend and sounded good.  Roof fit back on like a glove with no rattles.  Should have built sub box a tad bigger for more boom.  But I'm thinking of one more sub on the custom cargo box.

Great minds think alike on some of the components.  I also went with a JBL marine amp as well as Infinity 612m speakers.  I must've missed your build until now, but I just finished the second workup on my system.  First go around was a fiberglass overhead (my first fiberglass attempt) that did the job, but I didn't like how low it hung down so I scrapped it and went with 3/4" MDF as a complete roof build:

I used regular fleece to wrap it prior to fiberglassing.  Never again lol.  The fleece drinks fiberglass resin and I don't have the patience for body filler to make things look nice.

I went with bedliner for the finish.  It should be waterproof, durable, and easy to recoat whenever needed.

What would you recommend instead of fleece?

Oh I would've loved to have kept the fiberglass one, but it just wasn't as functional as I wanted.  I actually had purchased the materials to make a second one and learn from the first one, but the time and effort it takes to do it was more than I had available at the time.

I'd recommend something that stretches 4 ways and is relatively thin/not as absorbent.  If you go to Walmart in the fabrics they have this stretchy material similar to Spandex that I had bought for the second one that I bet would work perfect.  It'll be alot easier to stretch it over the curves and get the shape you want as well.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SPRAY ADHESIVE IN ADDITION TO STAPLES.  It'll help prevent bubbling in the fabric and save you hours of body work and sanding later.

Lookup videos on YouTube of custom sub enclosures and there are tons of good tips to pick up.

I just did a 40 dollar amp and 65 dollar speakers from amazon. the amp has volume control and a 3.5 jack for my phone to plug into i play the music on my phone. I wish i had gotten the bluetooth amp. I am looking into an adapter. but other than that it works well enough for me
