Cheap solution for rear window
« on: May 27, 2017, 03:33:33 PM »
So I got a super atv windshield and installed it today. And I wanted to buy one for the back to but I really didn't want to spend 200-300 on a window I'm barley gonna look out. So I came up with an idea when I had my cargo net up against the roll cage. I make tarps and canvas covers and one of the materials I work with is clear vinyl so I shaped and cut a piece of the vinyl the size of the net and stitched it together and hung it back up as the rear windshield. I've yet to go out and try it but I'm gonna test it tomorrow. So far I'm satisfied with the finish product even though it doesn't cover every single inch the majority of it is and I think it will keep the dusk out. To me it's worth spending close to nothing and saving $300. Let me know what you guys think

Never anything wrong with something that does what you need it to and at a near zero cost makes it even better. I did spend that money on the SATV rear shield...and have to admit I did cringe a bit spending that much. But in the end.. it does do what I needed it to and then some so...I'm OK with it.

I had the same problem ,to bring myself to pay $300 for a hard rear window  . I bought a soft rear for a 2012 RZR 800 and it fits great and it was only $65

Looks great, and it can also double as a water resistant cover for the bed, if it starts raining, flip it down over your cargo.
