Anyone installed a partical seperator on a Zforce 800 Trail?
If so, how much of a problem was it to accomplish.

I will be adding an S&B in the near future but for the time being I have a Donaldson Top Spin on my already modified intake system. It will feed air to both the engine and CVT on my setup. To add one to engine intake to a stock system just means you have to tie to the airbox which is a 2.5" port...which will have to be adapted to. With no rear window you can remove the stock pipe and come through the center grill plastic, out the rear area then mount it where you want..or can.

A guy on here from Sicamous BC had one on his Trail 800. Can't recall his username.

I just cleaned my CVT intake filter yesterday after using it all summer with the Donaldson.. and not cleaning it at all this season. Granted it only has a few hundred miles on it and not in extremely dusty conditions but..is wasn't worth the effort as there was hardly anything on it. So..I didn't clean the engine-air's first filter at all. Last year I did clean it mid and end-season and it was worth doing both times.

I installed one about 3 years ago connected to air intake and to drive belt. I ride in very dusty and sandy conditions. I installed a pre-filter (see pictures) might be over kill. Easy to do just takes a lot of time. 90 to 95 temp. highest on belt was 180 degrees usually stays around 145 to 150 degrees on hot days. Cleaned filter twice in 3 years, didn't need just felt I should. Best investment I ever made on this machine.

Very cool. How is it on noise? I have a picky ol'lady but do also have the rear windshield so hoping it's not too loud. My plumbing is all set and ready for it...just need to buy one.

Setting that high there is no noise when the machine is running. As soon as you turn the key the fan starts. Not at all objectable.

YES!
Most likely the best investment you can put into your rig!
I installed a KWT kit designed for the 950 but it worked fine on my 21' 800 Trail
A little bit of modifications and no problem.
I mounted the unit on the top (cut hole through roof) with it fastened the the roll bar. (cut two slots in roof to accept mounting brackets)
I ran the hose straight down in between the seats on over at a 90 to the air intake on the stock air box.
To do this, I deleted the stock air intake there between the seats, and its steel bracket which is welded to a frame. I simply cut it of with the hack saw and ground off the cut edge smooth.
