On older ones like mine we just had a light on the dash when the belt was not buckled but in early-mid 2017.. I believe.. they incorporated an RPM limiter when it was unbuckled. Don't think any of the 2016s or real early 2017s had it yet but I could be wrong. :/

I wonder if my 2017 doesn't have that option.  Pretty sure there is a seat belt light on the dash though.  I'm almost certain I've hopped in and just went for it without putting the seat belt on and had no issue.
