It was time past due to check tolerance. The back cylinder was tight! Front ones had clearance but still too snug. Looks like the valve seat on these is a bit soft so the wear of the seat is faster than the wear of the rockers etc.
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest whoever decided that coolant hose just had to be plumbed right over top the front valve cover.
