air box mod
« on: December 05, 2021, 12:55:52 PM »
Getting ready to do a air box mod, and found a flexible 2 inch roll of plastic pipe that could work for what I need. Could I run the plastic pipe up under the hood? It would save me a box in the back of our CF and be a very clean install. Would it pull the air that far? Just a thought, like to know every ones opinion.

One thing to first consider- on the 800s the airbox intake port is more like 2.25" so the 2" will become restrictive at some point in higher RPMs. Then the distance it has to travel will add to that restriction some. 2.25 or 2.5" would be way better. I considered running mine up front as it is a far better place..not into the storage compartment though..but just mount it along side somehow. Just didn't see a path through that wasn't going to be a problem somehow. If you do...tale pics and post them. I still think it's a good idea. If you can get it to the front grill area..even better. That would be away from the dust from the front tire and heat from the radiator.

Thanks for the reply, didn't realize 2.250 on T800. I thought I watched or read on a forum that they had run 2", I will for sure double check and thanks for the heads up. Will take pics as soon as the project start.
