Unless your tailights are like what I posted previously, you have to have them.  Now, I have see one or two z force's that already had the tail lights with the led blinkers installed but were missing the front blinkers.  Almost like they ran out of the standard US issued lights and threw the other ones on.  However, I doubt this is your case.  Unfortunately, sounds like a learning experience for your dealer.  As for the price, I may have gotten a discount, but I believe I paid 275 for the front lights, tail lights, switch, and relay.  Can't say how much tail lights are but I can tell you the relay should be around $5.  Emersonsc would know what the tail lights go for.

Yeah my tail lights are definitely all red and all the led segments come on with either the running lights or the brake lights, I'm gonna need the new tail lights

That sounds about right.  I'd look for my receipt but I'm down in Florida chaperoning a bunch of students on their senior trip.  Poor me huh?  But I would say your going to be close to what Spaceman found.

I looked all over for a signal kit and couldn't find one. My dealer had no idea either so I went to ebay, bought some chinese LED lights a flasher, 2 tiny LEDs, then went to Ace hardware and bought a on/off/on switch and made my own. Mounted the 2 LEDs and switch on the plastic cap that snaps on the handlebars and attached the lights to the underside of the racks. Whole thing cost less than $30.00.

Hi everyone,

My name is Cosmin, I'm new on forum and also a fresh owner of a Cf Moto Zforce 550.
I live in Bucharest Romania and here, my model is advertised as Zforce 5 Ex (but the stickers are with Zforce 550).

Anyway, I have a problem: I've burned a few led bulbs from the tail light. I asked my dealer but they don't know  :(
Searched the forum for an answer and didn't had any luck so I ask you if you know what type of led bulbs fits for tail/brake light? I only know that the led must be two phase (for tail light and brake) but that's all.

Can you tell me a code/model for the led?

Thanks in advance

Re: Adding turn signals? 2017 model year Zforce
« Reply #25 on: July 12, 2017, 03:42:30 PM »

2017 Zforce directional lights are not the same as the 2016 model year.

I've just finished adding directionals to my 2017 Zforce 800 Trail (US) and thought I would share this.

The 2017 came with the front directional pigtails (in the glove box) and the flasher module already installed under the hood. The only parts needed for the job were the rear tail lights (same as previous model years), the front directional lights (new design for 2017), and the dash switch.

It takes about 30 minutes to replace the tail lights. You will want a pin puller for this job. 12 pins in all. 8 10mm bolts to remove as well, then the back panel comes right off. 4 of those bolts hold down the top rear rail. You remove the back two bolts on each side so you can lightly lift the rails to release the back panel. The taillights are held in with 4 screws each. Just swap in the new lights.

The front lights get threaded through a hole in the front nose panel, and the pigtail is used to hook it up to the pre-existing wiring harness. A small 9/16 or 14mm box wrench is best for tightening the holding nut. This takes about 15 minutes if you take the time to use electrical tape to cover the connectors.

To install the switch you remove the cover under the dash by removing 2 10mm bolts, pulling the cover down slightly, and then pulling it forward to remove. The dash wiring harness can then be pulled down to reveal several unused plugs. Match the wire colors of the these plugs with those that are on the switch to be install.

Pop off the dash cover plate for the location you wish to install the switch. You can optionally remove the 2 5mm allen head screws in front and lift the dash up slightly to reach in and push the covers off from the underside.

Drop the switch wiring through the hole without pushing the switch into the hole, hook it up to the correct plug in the harness, and test the directionals switch to ensure it will be installed in the proper orientation. Then just push the switch in and replace the underside cover. 15 minutes tops.

Doug.

Odd thing about the hazard lights on my Canadian '17 Trail 800, they only work when the key switch is on! Kind of defeats the purpose, or at least makes them less useful as who wants to leave the keys in their vehicle if it's disabled or parked perforce in a place it might be a hazard?

That is odd, and the winch is live all the time.

I would talk to your CF Moto dealership.

I had the parts included as part of the deal on the Zforce.

I'm sure the direction setup for the Uforce is completely different.
