Any update on this Emersonsc ? I looked an a non EPS and asked the dealer the same question, and he said it could not be done.

The EPS models have 500watt stators where the non EPS units have 350 or 400 I think, they also have different ECUs and wiring harness's so...get it with or without and be happy with your choice...:)

Oh wow, that is significant. Much more than we originally thought. The higher output stator would come in handy when adding LED lighting, so I might just go EPS and be done with it.

The larger stator is for the added 25-30 amps the power steering needs. The surplus for extra is about the same..in the 15-20 amp range I think.

When i had the meeting I had with the Chinese a few weeks back we had talked about EPS and this is what they told me...

The EPS models have a different wiring harness, stator, and voltage regulator. It was not cheaper for them to use the same parts on the EPS and Non-EPS even though they had to purchase and where house two sets of each.

With that being said, you CAN add EPS to your Non EPS, but you would have to have deep pockets, a lot of time, and the know how to swap the parts put.
