8 Gang switch panel
« on: May 28, 2025, 01:27:58 AM »
Just got an 8 gang switch panel and was wondering if any one has installed one on an 800ex and where did you tap into battery and place the fuse panel?

Not sure what year yours is as you still haven't put it in your signature line but..on the gen-1s, most have pulled the storage tray and installed theirs on or behind the dash framing as well as any additional relays needed. As for power you will need to run a separate fused line to the battery, anywhere from a #10 to #6 depending on the total load requirements. Then for circuits requiring keyed power, just use the acc plug power to trigger relays to those loads.

I've seen a video where this guy is hooking to battery by the way of winch power supply instead of running long battery cable and he installed the fuse box panel inside storage compartment  under the hood.  I just feel a little iffy hooking to winch relay. What ya think?

It would be fine as long as it was fused to the new block. It would save some wire and any safety issues running a wire back to the battery. I'd do it.
