6 seconds to oil pressure
« on: February 25, 2024, 02:41:28 PM »
Seems like an abnormally long time to build pressure.  Wondering if it needs to go in for warranty.

Using mine as a baseline, when it sets a month or more it takes only 2-3 revolutions to start and within a second or so of starting it builds enough oil pressure to shut the light off..yeah, I think it probably should get checked. JMO. But if it's just that the oil cooler drains after sitting a few weeks like some do (not mine), then it may be normal. Still..the pressure needs checked.

Is there a port where a gauge can be attached?

Sure. Just take out the pressure switch/sending unit and install the gauge stuff. Remember though that its metric size & threads so don't force and sae stuff in it. As I remember its on the case between the two cylinders on the passenger side. If it were mine and I waned to install a perm. gauge I would get the parts to install a "T" there so both could be used at the same time. Get one with an electronic sending unit..not one with an oil line.

Thanks for the help! It is greatly appreciated.

I uploaded a video showing the instrument panel on startup.   It is attached about 2 messages up.

Yours is one of those that flashes at startup. If it's always done that it's probably normal. Never hurts to know what the real pressure is though.

Watched the video and I can say that my 22 is about the same. Always blinked for a few seconds before turning off.
