Hey there, I am new here and hoping to find some help!!

We have a 2016 ZForce 800 UTV that had a coolant leak a couple of weeks ago, we had a friend that has a garage put in new gaskets and that fixed it but he noticed a oil leak. He said it was too big of a job for him because he thought it looked like it was leaking where the cases join and on the bottom. So, took it to local dealer, they referred us to another dealer as they don't have the techs to work on it, but said the same thing. And that the cases will need to be cracked open to see what is going on... A very expensive issue.

We bought it new, it's had regular maintenance and it is driven back and forth from our house to our barn. (Approx. a mile or so a day) It currently has 7,500 miles on it.

My question is, have others had this same issue with this machine? Is this a common thing? Are the miles really that high for this machine? What kind of mileage do others have on theirs's? Would you put a couple grand into this or just sell as-is and get something else? Although, the prices are a bit crazy at the moment.

I'd appreciate any help with this!! Thank you!!!!

I can say that to have a case leak on a pre-2018 machine is rare...and I would try re-torquing the case bolts with a little extra on the lower side. When they changed the case designs to isolate the transmission, they at first had issues both to the outside and internally. 7,500 miles on one of these is getting up there. A rare-few have made it to 10K and over but the bulk are somewhere south of 5K. My 2015 has all of 2000 miles and is still fine. I also must say that there are a few out there that have had case leaks that did full rebuilds and the leaks come back in less then 500 miles. The thought is the cases warped for some reason and the mating surfaces don't stay constant. Personally, if it were mine and I had that kind of miles on it I would try the re-torque (be careful..use a torque wrench) first then if it still had it I would trade it in or sell it with full disclosure.
