how fast should my machine run, the few runs I have made I get  about 43 mph. I think the 800 should run faster than that. This is my first sxs been on 4 wheelers for years.

My Uforce will hit 60 ish, check for stops behind the gas pedal or on the throttle body. If you find one, make sure removing or adjusting it does not put tension on the throttle cable, adjust it with a wee bit of slack in it.

Before any tire or clutch mode my Z would make 68 mph... like most of them. Now only 64. Still..double check your speed, then check the throttle peddle stops... some have been  known to be set... incorrectly... shall we say.

I got 72 when I was stock. your pedal stop is likely only giving you part throttle. Look at the gas pedal then look at the top there is a stop screw there, loosen it up and make sure you get full pedal throw, then reset the screw so the pedal hits the screw right at WOT.

How about checking out the shift rpm, easy to do. Also verify GPS, easy to do as well.

checked throttle pedal adj screw its all the way adjusted out, checked throttle body and didn't see any stops in there either, will try to get accurate GPS speed this weekend. What are these clutch settings I keep hearing talk about.

Is this a new machine or a used one?  If it's new I would bring it right back to the dealer 43mph is no where near where you should be running. These things are pretty damn fast. Fast enough to feel scary at top speed.

this was a used machine 700ish miles, all stock except for 28" vampire II and upgraded air filter.

With 28" tires you are going faster than indicated.....GPS?

A heavier wheel & tire then add height to the equation, power eater....... rpm?

Yep, 28's on mine made the speedo about 8 mph slower than gps at around 50 ish, the faster you go the more it is off. IE: speedo 30, gps 33, speedo 43, gps 48, etc.

Sounds like a clutching issue. Maybe somebody tried to adjust it Ann's screwed it up.  Going to 28s would not drop your speed that much.  If the engine is running good and not misfiring i would suspect clutch issue.  I would take the cover off remove the secondary and see what it is set at, maybe they put in dr pulley sliders on the primary and they were put in wrong that's easy to screw up.  Make sure the brakes aren't dragging.  Wheat rpm are you getting out of the machine?
