There is a jam nut in there that needs to be lossened
you will see the nut on the inner and outer ends of the tie rod.
loose the jam nut, then you can unscrew the tie rod.
Search MojoMotors in Australia, they are the importer.
One better , here is their contact details
401 Grieve Pde, Altona North VIC 3025
P: (03) 8363 1600 (Reception) F: (03) 8363 1626   W: mojomotorcycles.com.au

Any tech info you should ask for Mitch.

so an update on the situation:
I noticed that the rack in the rack and pinion unit is bent as well so ive removed the whole thing. the parts i need now are:

steering box - $500au straight from cfmoto
tie rod - $150au from cfmoto (could probably repair mine)

if anyone knows if i can get aftermarket parts cheaper that would be great!

ive also managed to repair the shocks to an extent (the end had been threaded) but all the oil has leaked out so does anyone know how much oil needs to go back in and if it needs gas too?
cheers

I think some superatv racks have been used before. Should be info here on it, just do a search. Your the first I can remember that asked about rebuild/recharge of there shocks. I believe they are elka's. If someone doesn't chime in with info, try searching for information on there shocks. I'm pretty sure they will need nitrogen.

The Oz units have CFmoto brand shocks, but can be serviced. I wouldn't
The rack we have used super atv order for a polaris 800s , you will need to do a small tie rod trim.
Another user said he had to shim for diff clearance but I didn't.
Add a steering stop to it or you will find your walking the shaft out of the outer cup.

Okay so another update:
ive found an exploded view of the suspension and steering components here http://www.cfmotoparts.eu/
alpha sports have all the parts i need brand new from america at what i think is a semi decent price:

- steering box (9060-104060) $179.42 US ($235.17 AUD)
- LH tie rod (5BWA-104100) $104.13 US ($136.48 AUD)
- front left shock (7000-050500) $389.76 US ($510.86 AUD)
as well as $150.33 US ($197.04 AUD) postage which will take a while.

I've had someone at ballina suspension bend the tie rod and the rack in the rack and pinion unit straight for $100 AUD. when we put it back in it pulled to the left slightly so i think it still needs work.

I fixed the thread that broke in the shock and noticed that a push rod from in the shaft had fallen out and snapped. its a 15/64 chrome bar which is fairly uncommon in australia so i am taking it to Rad Motorcycle Shock Repairs in Brisbane to see if they can do anything about it. For now i've just filled it with auto trans fluid and put it back in, its leaking pretty bad but it'll do the job until i get it fixed.

if anyone knows any places that do the parts cheaper that would be great ill update on how the shockie goes.
cheers

With the low Aussie dollar and postage from US I would have thought it would be more expensive. Can you give me an example of the difference?
