Service manual help
« on: February 22, 2023, 12:07:45 AM »
I recently picked up a lightly used 700cl-x and have been searching all over the internet to get a service manual. I know that CFmoto makes service manuals for ATVs and a few motorcycles but I couldn't find anything for this. Does anyone actually have one or do they not exist. If they do exist where should I be looking for them because I'm very lost.

Update: If you buy one of these and need a service manual ask a local dealer unofficially to print one off for you, they do in fact exist but CFMOTO doesn't sell to the bike owners for some reason.

CFMOTO doesn't sell them to the public because they want dealers to do the major work outside of simple maintenance. That also allows them to sell the part to the dealers instead of finding parts from outside the "official" network. We'll never know if they also get a small kickback from those repairs.

My dealer said something along the lines of "Yeah I don't think I'm printing 300+ pages so you can do the work that we get paid for."

I was successful in offering $200 to a European English speaking dealer for the Service Manual, Wiring Schematics and related Diagrams. I figured once they arrive, because the files are larger than Google or oher email services allow, I'll offer them on USB Drives to anyone who wants one they can print out for themselves. I'm not looking to get rich but reimbursement for the USB drives and hours I've spent trying to find somebody willing to "break the rules" would be nice.

Outside the network meaning sites like Curren RV Sales, Inc which is an authorized CFMoto USA dealer but whose website is not affiliated with CFMoto or CFMoto USA, that was able to purchase a large supply of replacement parts. The downside to that is that CFMOTO doesn't get updated to what they have left! After CFMOTO told my dealer they didn't have the Reverse Gear Indicator Sensor I started calling and emailing dealers from countries around the world. Most of them said that CFMOTO doesn't let them ship parts to other countries but I was overly generous and convincing in that it's a small part that fits in a small padded envelope. Ultimately I bought 2 each from France, Poland, Romania, and Canada for nearly five times the @24.99 US BEFORE discovering that Curren had one left in stock and happens to be only 3 hours away from me.

I may have cornered the Western Hemisphere market and only the local one has arrived so far, but give me a shout if your gauge starts flashing from 6 to 1. Its most easily, and terrifyingly identifiable if you happen to be on the Thruway with Cruise Control set at 80mph when the front end suddenly dips because the computer, as it should, disengages Cruise thinking it's in 1st gear.

I got my CL-X Heritage on 10/14/22 and have put 6,510 miles on it since. I'm geting about 43mpg with an average speed of only 40mph on mostly scenic back country roads in the Catskill Mountains of Upstate NY.
2nd set of Pirellis and over 7,700 miles since October 14th over 160 hours with an average speed of of only 41mph on mostly back country winding twisty roads in Catskills portion of the Appalachian Mountains Upstate New York State.

I'm definitely interested in getting a service manual if that dealer comes through with PDFs. Happy to pay for it. My dealer doesn't seem too interested in helping.
