I installed a Razorback IR belt temp.sensor and I'm surprised how hot the new belt runs on my snorkled cforce 600 touring, especially when road riding.
I've seen posts about air temp sensors above 200F as being too much, but what about IR sensors.
I averaged about 215 on a mud run yesterday, and got up to 235.
Thanks

We that have air temp sensors know that the belt temp is much higher then the air temp so that's why we call it hot at 190-200. We know the belt and clutch sheaves can be 20+ degrees hotter. Your IR just confirmed it. I wouldn't worry too much about the 215 but the 235 is getting to the upper edge from what I've been told. Somewhere around 250 is red-line. Maybe...a CVT booster air fan would help you as it does for me. When I see mine getting up to 195-200 I just flip a rocker switch on and it stops climbing.. then starts coming back down. About 180 I turn it back off. What would be even better would be have it on a temp switch to automatically come on and go back off at set temperatures...so you wouldn't have to even think about it. Yeah mine gets it's hottest when running down the road at full shift-out and above 30. I guess all that spring pressure and force from the flyweights on the belt...and the gear ratio and shift-out makes it run hotter.

Ya Razorback has a fan that automatically adjusts via the temp sensor.
Thanks
