Shift linkage replacement
« on: April 17, 2018, 07:28:42 PM »
My shift linkage is junk. It will not stay tight and the ball joints rattling drive me nuts. It will not keep adjustment for very long.  I am now on the hunt for a good replacement. It is 6mm thread. Center rod is 18 3/4 long. The ball joint studs are staked in, but I am planning on drilling them out. I am unwilling to use loctite because of how loose the threads are now and don't want another cfm one. I will update if I find something but suggestions will help.

Maybe use the same rod and use something like these..or ones that do fit that are sealed better then the OEs

If I can find them in LH and RH thread, that should work great.

I couldn't find a LH thread joint. I did check the rod threads and they were very loose. I would need to replace that as well. The thing was in the way in the garage so I just wrapped the threads with Teflon tape, put it back in, than put wicking grade loctite on the jam nut. I will keep an eye out for a better solution, but that's all I can do for now.
