Malfunction Indicator

I have a 2011 Z6 600..While driving the other day I got a Flashing Malfunction Indicator light. It just flashes at a steady Rate  My question is how do I get it to Flash the Error codes with the pause in between flashes.Also is there a Program for either Windows or Android to allow me to read the ECU and or reset check codes............Appreciate any help.............Also my Z6 seems to run and ride OK even with the Code,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,My nearestDealer is about 200 miles from me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Thanks Jim

Check in the service manual. 1-27, 11-27 and 11-26 gives some info on the system. I think you might have to find the test port near the battery and ground the ecu to trigger the flash mode. The dealer has a PDA that hooks up to it to pull the codes. If you don't want to bring it in, use caution. I haven't had to deal with this yet, so this is best to my knowledge based on the manual.

Pretty sure the test port is under Steering Column,and book gives some info but very unclear about how its done,be nice if I could find Software for my Tablet

So far I have seen nothing for these, but the dealer PDF. If you figure it out, please post about it.

When you find the test port. Br/L is 12+, G is ground, and P is the K line. Check out page 1-21. The harness shown looks like a weatherpack type

I already found that out,,,,Also the K line has a jumper coming from it.It is a single wire with a Female slide Connector..........must be something in dealer maint book ,not in ours.................hate secrets

It might be to ground it to get into blink mode.
