If its anything like the Z8 OE filter, it just gets replaced. If it's a foam filter, any foam filter cleaner and treatment will work. Soap and water won't cut some foam filter oils.

The filter box is on the right rear wheel well. Up high. There will be a plastic holder for the filter once you get the clips pushed off the cover. Take the support out of the center of the filter, put the filter in a ziploc bag with some dawn soap and water. Squeeze the bag a bit to work the old oil out. Rinse it in the bag a few times. Let it dry overnight on top of a paper towel. When dry, put it in a clean bag and oil it. Getting the tab on the filter holder to line up with the one on the cover is a pain be keep trying you'll get it.

Here it is with the cover off on the right. There is some duct work that covers it up a little bit. It was removed before the picture. Pm me if you still need help.

If you don't have it already, there is a z6 service manual here. Look at the beginning of z6 category, and download it.

Getting the filter back in is a bigger pain than removing it. Just keeping all things lined up as you put the cover back on. I've been tempted to put a drop of superglue on the assembly to hold it in place while you put the lid on. All the clips can be snapped back on from the outside, (small hands would help) the 'top' clip can be accessed through a hole in the cargo area. I looks like the hole was put there for just that reason. Mine is a 2013 Snyper 600 EFI, yours may differ a bit.
