I was able to fit a full set of RZR 800 shocks in my Z6 53". I think they are a far better shock, progressive, and easy to find. They are about an 1 1/2" longer and the lower bushing spacers are a little bit longer too. You can just grind/ file them to match the OEM ones. The fronts went in easy with only having to rotate a brake line to make room for the larger springs. The rears will fit also but I discovered a design flaw with the rear diff. The diff sits too low and makes the cv axle bottom out when you try to move the a arms down for a longer shock. This does happen with the OEM shocks too, but not as bad. Check the in and out play on the axle when it is down on the ground. Now jack it up with the tire off the ground. You will see what I mean. The play is gone and the diff bearings are side loaded. To get the rears in, I unbolted the upper spindle bolt allowing the arms to go down a little bit. I then was able to attach the bottom of the shock and compress it to get the upper spindle bolt back in. I think I will have to raise the diff up to get it to work like it should have from the start. I think even with the OEM shocks in there and it binding like it is, I would have bad diff bearings at some point. I will post what I end up doing to fix this.

My rear Shocks also failed, but fortunately under warranty. The dealer ordered in a set for me, but we received the piggy back shocks instead of the normal ones. Hopefully these will hold up better. The machine is a zforce 600 2014 bought brand new in January 2016. We have around 650 kiles on it. Only a 150 or so on rough trails. All of the rest were on gravel county roads.

Never mind, still won't let me post pictures. Anyway I stopped by the dealer and asked what the deal was with where the differential was mounted. He seems to think that mine was put together wrong. I can't see how it's not how they intended to be. The prop shaft is straight to it and there is not much room to the heat shield. I'm going to shorten the cv shaft and deepen the joint socket. I should be able to pull this off and get the pressure off the bearings.

I did it. I moved the snapring on the outboard cv axle in, shortened the inboard ball cage backside and deepened the inboard cup bore. You could bring in the axles and have them shortened, this would be easier. If you have a lift kit installed, I would suggest you make sure your cv axle is not bottoming out in the cup. Wiggle the axle sitting on the ground. Now jack the rear end till the tires are off the ground. If the Wiggle is gone, you have a problem.

What year RZR 800 did the shocks come off of? I have a 2013 Z6EX and was wondering if they fit the EX as well so I can swap the stock ones out. It gave a lift as well right? So I wouldnt need to do a lift kit if I swapped the shocks since these are already taller?

I think any year standard rzr would work. The rzr 570 also uses the same shocks. Read through the post for the problems I had. If you can make sure you won't have the axles bottoming out on you, give it a try. You can search the RZR forums for the shock length. I did have it but it is missing now.

Yeah, I saw the issues with fitment on the rear. Maybe limiting straps would help? The reason I ask is it looks like one of the front shocks is bent. The lower mount isnt parallel to the rest of the shock so Im sure Ill need to replace at least that shock and for the price of a new one I can buy 4 used rzr shocks and probly still have money left over...

My fronts will go right in, no problem. Not sure about the ex. They might be a bit longer and might not have any issues with the rzr shocks.

Whats the suspension travel with the rzr shocks? About the same as with the stock ones? Im unsure of the differences in the EX model but from what Ive gathered its a little wider and taller?

You will have to pull one of each and just check. Here is a link for the rzr shocks.

Will do. Im finding alot of things from the RZR 800 are very similar. Ill be going through looking for other stuff to upgrade as well.

Finally had time to work on the Z6 today and while it was jacked up changing brakes I measured the shock length. Eye to eye the front shocks are 19.5" and the rears are 21" and according to the link you sent me Cosmosdan the Rzr 570/800 shocks are 16.25" front and 18.5" rear. If I installed those on the EX it would actually LOWER it by a few inches...

I just found on ebay that 09 RZR XP900 shocks are the exact length of the stock Z6EX shocks front and back. Those would be an option for an upgrade over the factory EX shocks

Might be worth a try as they are more available and priced reasonable. Might still have to narrow up the eyelets but not hard to do.

They look better than the RZR570/800 shocks too IMO. ELKA also makes shocks but they range from $474 for a set of two(F or R) up to over $700 a set for their stage 3. I cant make myself spend $1000-$1500 for shocks though... LOL

I hear the fox podium shocks are pretty good. If you can pick up a set at a good price, I think you should be happy with the ride.

The shocks and tires are going to be my next upgrade but first need to get the 4wd working and finish doing maintenance on it.

Just an update. For the Z6EX model, RZR 800S shocks fit and are the exact same length and no modification is necessary. Just installed on mine. For the EX it HAS to be the 800 S shocks though since the regular rzr 800 has shorter shocks. Also, I installed a proven companies new product offering, Garage Products A-arm bushings, and they are 1000% better than stock. They are a very snug fit where you have to put the bushings in with a rubber hammer and use a press or big c-clamp to install the sleeve and for comparison I pulled the old bushings out with pliers easily... No more loose A-arms!
