When I had my Z6 (2011), I cut a large piece of inner tube rubber and zip tied it inside the fender well. I went around cvt intake tube and to the frame. I know the next years model extended the cvt intake higher. It kept dust from rolling up from tire to the air filter and cvt intakes. I cleaned my air filter constantly anyway (and oil changes) but at close to a thousand miles I decided I better tear into it to inspect belt. I figured a lot of road and belt dust, but the belt looked new and there wasn't much dust. Blew it out and that was it. I put over 1500 miles on it and had it two years, ran great. Only problem I had was I went through 3 speed sensors.

I haven't had a speed sensor problem yet. What were the symptoms? Did you get a picture of your dust shield? I like to add problems with solutions in the running tread I have going. I had to put a pre-filter on my CVT intake. I was getting so much dust in the primary after one ride, it would barely work.

Sorry no pics of mod, wish I had some. Just worked like a fender well. It's been awhile since I had it. The speedometer would jump around then go to zero. Started at about 30 miles. Found connection and put a little dielectric grease on it and thought I fixed it, but it wasn't long at it acted up again. Had to almost pull dealers teeth to get one to me under warranty, you know they wanted me to bring it in. It is simple to replace. The next two I bought. The last one I was gonna say to heck with it but my odometer stopped and I figured I may get rid of it so I wanted that working. I had a lot of fun on that. Someone got a good machine. Traded for Uforce 800

Mine is a 2013 so they might have fixed the problem. They are pretty good about updating things. I did notice when I looked up parts they hadn't put a replaced by prt# ect. Good thing the dealer by me keeps track of updated parts. They will get better with this I'm sure.

I have the same problem with mine here (2012) No reading on the speedometer (Zero) or just start after few bumps off-road, if you shotdown and start, reading keep at Zero, them few bumps and start indicating.

Any possible fix, other than replacing sensors over and over again?

Check to see if the part number changed from the year you own to the most current part number. They may have updated it and you might not have a problem again once you replace it. If it comes and goes, might just be a contact problem. Pull it apart and check it out.

I have the same problem I wasn't real worried about it but i'd like to fix it if I can does anyone know where the sensor is located?

Haven't had to mess with mine yet. Check the service manual and see if it's in there. If you don't have it yet, It's under this cat. near the first topic.
